1. Overview & Core Privacy Promise
At FIT Overlay, we take your personal data privacy seriously. Unlike traditional cloud-rendering video platforms, FIT Overlay operates on a local-first, client-side rendering model. Your raw video files (.mp4, .mov, etc.) and telemetry files (.fit, .gpx) are processed directly inside your browser machine using WebCodecs and WebAssembly.Your video footage is NEVER uploaded to or stored on our servers.
2. Data We Collect & How We Use It
A. Account & Authentication Data
When you sign in or create an account, we collect your email address and an authenticated user identifier via our database provider (InstantDB) to manage your Pro subscription status.
B. Payment & Billing Data
Payments are processed securely via Stripe, Inc. We do not store or process your credit card numbers or banking details directly. Stripe handles and secures all transactional information in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
C. Strava API Integration
If you connect your Strava account, we request read-only access to your public activities via the official Strava OAuth2 API to fetch telemetry streams (speed, power, cadence, heart rate, GPS coordinates). This telemetry data is streamed directly to your local browser session and is not shared with third parties. You can disconnect your Strava integration at any time in the app or via your Strava profile settings.
D. Analytics & Diagnostics
We use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics & Google Tag Manager) to monitor website performance and advertising conversion effectiveness.
3. Cookies & Consent Mode
We adhere to the European ePrivacy Directive and GDPR Consent Mode v2 standards. Essential cookies required for authentication and session persistence are loaded automatically. Marketing and tracking tags are governed by standard consent controls.
4. Your Rights (GDPR / DSGVO)
